Nomex High Temp BBQ gasket smoker pit seal, self stick?

Has anyone out there tried this seal product?

I found it on Amazon and saw a couple good reviews, but if it hasn't been proven here, I am not sure I want to risk it.

I'm not sure I would trust a "self-stick" solution unless it was being used on top of the rim of a surface (so not moving around, and the lid would exert pressure to cause the seal).

If you want to use the tape, I'd get a high-temp silicone to adhere it with.
