Hi there,

I'm a total newb and I've been going through the forum. Love the WSM I've looked all over in Amsterdam (NL) and can't find a suitable pot. Anyone know if there is a forum dedicated to alternative methods? Maybe sheet of aluminium wrapped around? Unless of course someone know somewhere in the Netherlands to get the correct pot? Would love t build one of these fellas.

The pot is a 30.2 liter or 32qt brushed aluminum pot made by Vasconia. It's a steamer or tamales steamer pot. It works to make the mini WSM with the weber smokey joe tabletop kettle grill.

ha ha this is true. However i have been to DC recently and it 'smelled' very familiar there!

Unfortunately it is either impossible to have it delivered here or too expensive to make it worthwhile.

I may just have to pick one up next time i am in the US and carry it on the plane. I just could not find one last time I was there. DC area in January does not seem to be the place to buy this pot.

People talk about $20 or $30 to buy one. You could order one and have it sent to where your staying here next time. 2 day shipping.

Good luck

All kinds of alternatives. Just depends on how handy you are. I have not seen anyone here do much else other than the standard pot or a pot that is similar. You could have one rolled by a fabricator out of steel or aluminum. Look into smaller oil drums, 10-15 gallon. They are close to the right diameter.

There are some good alternative builds in the threads here: https://tvwbb.com/forumdisplay.php?74-Smokey-Joe-Mini-WSM-Project
