Newbie intro

Hello to all!

I have been reading this forum for well over a month now and stumbled on to it looking for information on how to smoke meat.

I was using a gas grill that i would smoke in, but my wife went out and purchased a smokey mountain combo unit.

As for grilling knowledge, i am a complete novice. I know the basics and that is about it. I have signed up for e course and learning from reading the posts on here.  

I have done some mods on my unit but i still need to play with it and learn the in's and out's.

I live in upstate NY (Syracuse), born and raised.
