Hello folks,
Just got my first smoker, a 30" black MES, last week, and hit the ground running this past week with a smoked pork butt, some ribs and wings, a smoked ham and a couple fatties, then a brisket and another pork butt tomorrow. Yes, I like to dive right in and see what happens with my food experiments. I read quite a bit beforehand though, so I didn't really screw anything up too badly yet. :-)
Anyways, saw this forum for newbies, thought I'd toss my .02 in, and get started reading the forums. I live in Waterford, MI. and in addition to my new hobby of smoking, I also enjoy craft micro-beers, fixing and restoring pinball machines, and NHL hockey. Drop a line if you're in the area and have some advice or like to play pinball.
