Hello all,

Just joined the forum, been window shopping for a few months. I am in the building construction phase of a new smoker and would appreciate feedback positive or negative. We all make mistakes and can always learn.

Back when I was younger my family had a smoker that was made from an old outhouse with concrete pipe to an open firebox. The smoker kicked ass but it cranked through the wood and was hardly efficient.

Call it lessons learned; but since I have bought my own house it’s been on my future plans to build my own. I took what my family built, what I have read online, and designed my own. It’s been a design/build on the fly. Basically making it up as I go. Attached a few picture of where I am today:
