Good Afternoon!

Decided to venture into the world of smoking, not planning anything too intense just interested in making it into a nice hobby. Recently got my hands on a Masterbuilt 30-inch Digital Electric Smoker. I'm currently trying to figure out what I want to smoke first, so if anyone has any recommendations... I'm all ears!

Also, I'm trying to get a small collection of books on techniques and what not, if anyone has any favorites I would love to hear about them too!

Congratulations on the new smoker. There's plenty of info about your smoker on this site. As for a first cook Meatloaf is also easy, cheap and not to time consuming. Oh and welcome neighbor.

I am new myself and did a pork butt. They are fairly decently priced and there are so many ways to play with it flavor wise. Seeing the smoke ring also made me feel good inside knowing I did it right haha.
