Newbie attempting to build a 100 gal propane tank RF

Congratulations! It's a great feeling to build it and a great feeling to cook on it too isn't!

Should I ask about the cinder block under the fire box? Does it need some more tongue weight?
 
Bubbonehead it's an awesome feeling and you are correct. I do need to add more tongue weight. I still plan on adding a cage to haul extra logs and a propane tank carrier up front and as a last resort move the spring shackles all the way back, 6 more inches. If that doesn't work add a spare tire.
 
WOW! for a guy that didn't know how to build a smoker nor weld you did a EXCELLENT job. Them welds look like you have welded all your life. Did you take a welding class before you started?

For tongue weight add a job box on the front, they weigh enough empty to balance it out, in my opinion.

Very nice first smoke as well. The turkey has excellent color.

It sure worked tho!! Your finished product looks awesome! I'm kinda in the same boat you were in... Never welded before...never built a smoker before... But really want to build a nice one like you did!!! Thanks for the info!
 
Awesome looking Job i am working on getting my started, but am having trouble finding a place with used propane tank or old barrels :(.
