Been smoking on a gas Gosm  for about 4 yrs and was looking to get an electric smoker , however i found a brand new WSM  22" for $200 and just could not pass on that price.I am about to start seasoning it and see how that goes..  Now just need to get an auber/ digiQ and let the fun times begin.. Plenty of question to follow for u WSM users, but peace for now..

You just bought one of the best smokers on the market! IMHO!

I'm looking forward to seeing it in action!

thanks to you all,, hoping the learning curve will not be too complicated.. BTW which ATC do you all recommend:digiQ,auber, or pitIQ120?

I have the IQ 130 the only difference between the 130 and 120 is wifi. It works well for me and it comes with everything needed for one price. It's a family owned and operated business so you get personal coustomer service. It was my choice because of price and features.

Randy,

Great smoker - and I thought I got a steal for mine at $275! There's not too much of a learning curve, I'd suggest searching the "minion method" for charcoal loading and burning. I can get mine to stick within 10-15 degrees for 8 hours or more without adding new fuel. These things are very efficient and I have had great results on all of my cooks - from brisket to pizza! Enjoy!

You don't need to season WSM's just start smoking and you don't need a ATC unless you are not going to be around for the whole cook, it will rock steady for the most part. Get you a Maverick or ThemoWorks Smoke that is all you need.
