Nice job on the pork chops!

You need to drill a hole in the door for your temp gauge.

Your not going to get a very accurate reading at grate level when you measure the temp at the top of the stack.

the temp gauge was just for the seasoning of the smoker , as far as drilling a hole I may pass on the headache of trying to .

I have the digital stick thermometers that I use .

less holes in the smoker and less chance to rust .

I found out this smoker is 28 years old and still smokes great
