New to the forum, but not new to smoking

How goes it, this looks like a good place to hang out! I've been running an offset for several years, but was given a MES 30 about 2 yrs ago, and loved the thing, but it died on me about a month ago, so I still need to figure out if it was just the element that went out on it, controler, or whatnot. That said, I just bought me a new MES Sportsman Elite 30, and plan to season it and get it cranked up in the next few days. I've never done any of these mods to my MES smokers, and y'all have the gears in my brain turning, so I may have to tinker a bit with them.

Welcome, I'm learning as much as I can, and am having a ton of fun (and food) in the process. I've had my mes se about 6 weeks and can't use it enough.

Looking forward to the venture with you all...I'm also new to the MES smoking processes and hoping to gain some knowledge.  I've done a lot of smoking/BBQing on my charcoal grill but am also looking to further my knowledge with this MES technique.
