New to smoking

I just purchased a Masterbilt electric digital temp control smoker with 4 racks.  When smoking a turkey breast, on what rack should I place it?  How much do I open the vent control?

I do not know the masterbilt smoker but I imagine you would place the bird in the middle of the smoker and most of the electric smokers call for the vent to be wide open.  It should say in the instructions that came with the unit.

Thanks, but the instructions did not state one way or the other how much to open the vent. Guess it is kinda like trying different ways to see which is best

in that case, open all the way especially if a water pan is used.
