Well, the wife got me a a Masterbuilt electric smoker (Model MB20070619) and various wood chips for Christmas. (Come to think of it, she got me an air fryer and a couple new skillets too. Is she trying to tell me something?) I have started reading forums, watching youtube videos and bugging friends in an effort to claw my way up the learning curve. I have much to learn.

Generally, I do most of the cooking around our house. I cook on the grill as much as possible, and I keep things simple. Most meat gets some salt and pepper and we use a couple basic marinades for pork and beef. I have avoided grilling chicken on the bone because the result is either dried-out or undercooked at the bone.

So far, I have tried smoking two briskets and a whole chicken. I have a host of questions, but will spare you in my introductory post.

On a different note, I make great corned beef and, therefore, hash. Let me know if you want my recipe.
