Guess I need to check with the owner for documentation of ownership. I hear ownership and warranty is transferable.
IIRC the warranty is not transferrable. Original owners only.

BGE makes alot of cool stuff these days, some of it is hokum, but some is legit.

I have an X-LARGE BGE. Did a 6 hr rack of spare ribs yesterday @ 225 degrees. Does an awesome job.

I drove to Baton Rouge today to Goodwood Hardware. This store is a Big Green Egg dealer and has awards for BGE sales. They have an extensive parts department and I needed a new handle for my grill. The handle was missing. The owner told me is rotted and needed to be replaced. No big deal. Anyways, I had never been to the store, but had heard a lot about it. This store is huge. 1/4 of the store is dedicated to grilling. I walked around for about an hour looking around...

I saw the handle missing , and was gonna offer to make ya one , but saw they were pretty cheap .
Nice to have a store like that . Did you notice if the had Chigger creek wood products ? Chips / chunks and pellets . Good product out of Macon Missouri .

Appreciate you thinking about me Rich. What a nice gesture. I was going to make one at my Uncles wood shop, but thought the same as you did, so I just bought one. I do not remember seeing if they had Chigger creek products, but they did have a large selection of both pellets and charcoal. I do remember meat church charcoal was there. First I have seen it here locally. They also had huge 20-30# bags of charcoal... I will be going back and looking around some more in that store. I will see if they have Chigger creek.

According to Grok, you are correct:

**No, the warranty for a Big Green Egg Grill is not transferable to a new owner.**

According to Big Green Egg's official warranty terms:

- The limited lifetime warranty on ceramic parts (and other component warranties) applies only to the **original purchaser/owner** with proof of purchase (or registration).
- It is explicitly stated as **non-transferable**.

This means if you sell your Big Green Egg, the buyer (second-hand owner) cannot claim the warranty. Big Green Egg has enforced this policy more strictly in recent years to prevent abuse.

For the most accurate and up-to-date details, check the official pages directly:
- [Warranty Information](https://biggreenegg.com/pages/warranty)
- [Full Warranty Terms](https://biggreenegg.com/pages/warranty-terms)

Used or second-hand Eggs may still be excellent, but buyers should not expect warranty coverage.

Nice! I want one real bad but so far to tight to spend the coin! Have fun with it 👍🏼
