I've had a gas smoker in the past and am looking to get into charcoal smokers.

Just received a smoker which appears to be an ECB in disguise. Not to excited considering the posts I've been reading. Already requested to return it. What are your thoughts on a decent charcoal smoker? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the board! I'm one of many people who recommend a Weber, but I'm burning sticks in an offset.

Welcome from SC, Rich. It's good to have you ok this great site. I'm also a stick burner, but I would also recommend a WSM as a very good starting unit. They are very user friendly and hold heat well. They will give you a great finished product. IMHO
