My in-laws were kind enough to get me a Char-Broil American Gourmet 700 for Christmas. After a few months, I finally finished building it and adding a few mods and was able to spice and use it this weekend. I only made a couple steaks and some potatoes, but it worked great and I was very happy with the results.

I did a lot of reading on here prior to assembly and modding and am thankful for all of the information that I was able to find. I can't wait to use it some more. I already have a few friends and my wife who have volunteered to be guinea pigs for my attempts at cooking.

Here is a picture after the assembly and a couple mods.

Congrats, gflack!  That's a nice lookin' smoker ya got there.  Now get smokin'!

Thank you. I have one more small thing to do before I can get smokin. I picked up some material to make my charcoal basket. That will get done this weekend and then the smokin will begin. :-)
