I just got my smoker. It is on my wooden deck. Do I need to put something under it so the deck won't catch on fire. Does it get hot enough to catch the deck on fiew?

Welcome to the board! What kind of smoker are you going to use?

You might ask your local fire department about applicable codes/laws.

I have the master built electric smoker

It would help to know what kind of smoker it is. At the same time it never hurts to have a fire block just in case.

I see this is your first post. When you get a chance will youi drop by roll call so everyone can give you a proper SMF welcome?

Happy smoken.

David

It is an electric master built 30"

The outside will be cool to the touch. I would find a drip pan to go under it to protect your deck. Also a wind break is a good thing to have.

When you get a chance will you add your location to your profile. It often helps to answer questions when we know what part of the world you are in.

Happy smoken.

David
