Hello all. Been reading for a few weeks but just started posting.
My name is Keith, From Ontario Canada. Im new to smoking, had always been interested but never decided to buy a smoker till a sale i couldnt pass on at cabelas. master built 30inch vertical propane. ($70 figured it would make a good starter).
I work at a heat treating factory, love hunting and fishing.... anything outdoors.
Started a while back with a cast iron hobby of restoring and using. Sure changes the world of cooking once you have a large assortment of cast iron, i also love using my grill and i guess the next step was running a smoker.
So far have smoked ribs, chicken and vegetables for a salsa. All went great.
Im quickly learning how helpful a full smoker on the weekend can be during the week.
Saturday i smoked a whole chicken, 20 chicken thighs, 10 drum sticks. Well that fed 6 adults and 2 kids and had left overs for next day, work lunches and soup from the chicken bones. I used cherry wood chips and i can even taste it in the soup.
I see full smokers and great meals in my future. Im building up to take on a brisket. Bit scared of it but cant wait.
Thanks
