My name is Michael, and I have been lingering around and reading the forums for about 8 months now, and finally decided it might be time to just join in.  I have an MES 30 with Cold Smoking Kit, and have been smoking for about 8 months as well, so still relatively new.  Learning a lot and trying new things.  Cold Smoking Kit is new, so will be using it for the first time soon.

I got tired of crappy thermometers that I seemed to always need to buy new probes for ( or just buy a new unit ), so I ended up building my own waterproof, wifi thermometer with web interface which ill show off soon in a new thread.  Next step is to use the same device to replace the temp controller unit. And i just found a post of someone controlling the CSK with a dimmer, so will probably look at integrating that as well.  I am enjoying the tinkering as well as the awesome smoked grub!

Welcome to SMF! :welcome:
We're glad to have you here. The search bar at the top is your best friend. This forum has been around for over ten years, so there is a good chance that any questions you may have, have already been answered (they may have 10 different answers, but you'll get an instant response non the less).
Please be sure to post your smokes along with your process and recipes. We will be glad to help you along the way and we may also learn something new ourselves in the process. Also, don't forget the very important Q view! (We're mad for pics on here [emoji]128513[/emoji])
Always remember to have fun because it's not fun if you have to work at it. Thanks for joining,
- Ryan
