Nice and happy b-day.Cool thing about new models is they redesigned the water pan.The old ones-like mine-before i put a brinkman in it-were shallow as heck-like a frisbee.

Have used both 22 and 18 inch new models and they are great.My 10 year old is still working great!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about the water pan , use it or not , doesn't really make that much of a difference. I use mine mostly because its there. Congrats on the new toy and Happy birthday.
