I hope you get what you want, however I would miss all the Company of sitting with friends and having a few drinks or coffee . That's my reason (other than pride in my offerings) , for enjoying Wood burning.

Now I'm a Fat Boy , and a bit lazy , but the babysitting a Smoker is one of my favorite exercises , especially when the G-kids are here.

Oh, I would like to have an MES (and this is my suggestion to you for a Smoker) , if only for smoking Cheese and other cold smokes. But watching Watts burn is not the same. (you see I also use BBQ as a excuse to get time away from Trish

.)

However you decide to go , have fun and . . .

My favorite excuse... I have to keep an eye on the smoker. I hope she never learns how easy the WSM is to run.

I vote for the 22.5 wsm. The weber company has an entire gourmet lineup of woks, searing plates, rotisserie setups for the 22.5 kettles tha would be awesome to include for grilling duties. Best of both worlds.

Old post but figured I'd update.....

So, Santa brought me a Weber Performer series for general grilling. It, is, AWESOME. No offense to those who like their Chargrillers but there is a reason why Webers cost what they do, they are built great and work even better.

This past weekend I picked up a 18.5 WSM for smoking duties. I added the door and lid seal before seasoning it. It's going to do two pork shoulders while we are camping with friends this coming weekend. Another quality piece from Weber. Thanks for all the advice.

You'll love the WSM. I haven't had mine fired up for a while but the chaos is starating to slow down so I hope to have the smoke rolling again next weekend.

Two perfectly smoked pork butts were completed thanks to the new WSM this past weekend. I used the minion method with regular Kingsford and some hickory wood chunks. Other than adding a few wood chunks I didn't touch it and it ran at 225-250 for 8 hours, flawlessly.
