New house, a pile of wood, and a dead tree.

I just moved into a house in the Memphis area and the previous owner was nice enough to leave me a pile of wood and a dead tree. Can anyone help me ID this stuff?

I need to know if this should go in my new Lang 36 (should be delivered next week) or a fire pit.
