Hello,

I am new here and what prompted me to register is a need of a suggestion for a smoker. I am new to smoking and debating between a 14" Weber smoker and Char broil deluxe electric smoker which are about the same price.

I had a barrel style char griller grill and it took forever with charcoal for me, yet it is interesting. Weber reviews claims to be super easy almost like set and forget. I own a weber e210 gas grill and i absolutely love it, yet when trying to smoke on it - i struggle to get much smoke. Although, food turns out awesome when wood chips are used.

I live in Minnesota, so we do get a lot of windy days and few cold ones, that is why i was thinking of the Char Broil deluxe because it is well insulated and i can set it and go inside for a while.

Thank you

The Webwe Smoky Mountain is a good way to start. It uses charcoal with wood flavor chunks. It is great to hold a constant temp. There are some tricks with the dampers and with the water bowl, but there is a Weber sub forum here that can answer a ton of questions.

Good luck and good smoking, Joe. :grilling_smilie:
