New guy from texas

I'm kevin on here from texas I have been reading on the forum and just decided to join I use a pellet grill and just got a propane smoker but I'm planning on added a fire box for smoker on my steel pipe bbq pit with the pit being round and the tank I am going to use for my firebox being round any one have any advice on how to connect the 2 and size of the opening from the firebox to pit
