Hello there. My name is Mike and I am from Central Md., just south of Baltimore. I joined here for several reasons.

1. Input on a new Electric Smoker (w/o breaking the bank)

2. Recipes

3. Info on different styles of cooking and meats.

4. Any other pertinent info you guys want to pass on.

I have been grilling for over 30 years, mad retired from the FD where they guys always like what they called "Stinky Mike's BBQ" . I prepared dinner most nights at work and the grill always got a work out for the 10 of us on the shift.

Smoking will be new to me. I am a gas griller, and occasionally charcoal. I was thinking of an electric smoker as it would be an easy set up at my home.

Looking to start with beef and pork, move to chicken and eventually a turkey.

So what type kind of a electric smoker would you guys recommend under $200 as a starter?

I have a Home Depot, Lowes and Bass Pro close to me here so let the advice fly!!

Looking forward to the help!

Mike

Glad you joined us Mike, :welcome1: from North Dakota!
I would recommend looking at the Smokin-It and also the Iron Chef Kitchen to consider before making a decision.
