New Guy checking in

My name is Mike, you can tell by my username that I am a Clamper. That means that I am a member of E Clampus Vitus. They are mostly in California but with Chapters in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. We are a drinking club with a history problem. Look us up. Ok back to smoking. I live in California mid state, I love to cook for people and just started smoking last March. My wife bought me an ECB and I learned the basics on it. However I am lazy and the ECB is a bitch to keep the fire going, so for Christmas I got a MasterBuilt electric 4 rack with temp control and timer. So far it is the greatest cooking systerm I own.  I love to cook outside, I have a propane grill, 3 charcoal grills, a turkey frier, and a 2 burner propane stove. Being a Clamper cooking outdoors is a must.  I am looking forward to learning from others that have been doing this longer than I have so Ill be in and out of this forum. take care and Keep on smoking.

Im sorry I thought that I said I was from California, Porterville to be more specific. It is located betweeen Fresno and Bakersfield in the Cental Valley.  Summers reach 100+ winters can go as low as high 20s. I hope this answers your question.

Hi Ya Mike!  Welcome to the best BBQ forum on the internet!  You will find everything you need here to become a genuine pit master...if you can keep from falling in the fire  

 - took your advice and looked up E Clampus Vitus - wow!  Says you guys aren't sure if you are an historical drinking society or a drinking historical society - That about says it all!!!!

Anyway, it's great to have you with us and when you get around to smokin' something be sure to share pictures of your smoke...we call it Q-view and as we like to say...
