So I took the plunge and bought a griddle...a 28" Blackstone. It was on sale and I've been looking at all the posts on here about cooking on one, so why not? I also got a cover for it even though it's going to reside on my covered patio. I have seasoned it, also.

Question for all you seasoned griddle users, what are the accessories you think are a must?

Man I love mine. I just use the regular spatulas, a press for bacon and other stuff, a wire warming rack, and a press for smash burgers. Squeeze bottle for oil and one for water as well. Look forward to seeing what you griddle up! 🔥

As said, a couple of griddle spatulas is the starting point, I will add that you should buy a set that will fit the size of your top, I bought some giant ones and they are more of a problem than any good. If you have a restaurant supply store you will save money, well maybe not because they are like an amusement park for chefs, but they will have what you need. A scraper is a must for clean up. Don't forget to check your oil/ waste catch, that can get messy if not maintained...don't forget the squeeze bottles. HAPPY GRIDDLING.

My first griddle about 6 years ago I bought so much crap that I ended up not using. Sold it all and the griddle and this year bought a blackstone. Talked myself out of all the “gadgets” and I mainly use two spatulas and the blackstone scrapper to clean it. So much easier and less cleanup

I'm in the 6" knife camp , and a good dome .

Beyond that , squeeze bottles for water and oil .

We got a rectangular basket to put said water bottles and sauces/seasonings in... clamps onto the side shelf. Also comes with screws and plastic inserts for sheet rock installation... can hang in the kitchen and then carry out to flattop for use.

Other than that...BEER!

I also use a drywall taping knife, 8" (think I turned y'all on to it) ... They also work good as the scraper... Get a stack of the disposable aluminum pans for the grease catch pan... Hopefully you didn't do the initial seasoning with bacon grease...

The Flat Top King has some pretty good videos/ideas for the griddle... I especially like the Hashbrown Omelet... not casserole, but omelete I use my homemade breakfast sausage and homemade bacon for it...

For an extra large dome, I purchased a couple knobs that have magnets on the bottom and put them on a standard turkey foil pan upside down with a steel 1/4 hole washer that just fits. Holds in steam well.

For example, I quickly singe both sides of canned biscuits then put them on a wire cooling rack under the dome till they are my desired doneness inside. Also using small foil pans over in the corner for heating more liquidy stuff like sauces, refried beans, and melted cheese works well also. I suggest you just scour U-Tube and pay attention to the surroundings of what others have perfected that sometimes they just do and not mention like the above post of "Flat-top-King" and the "Grill Girl" work well for me. https://blackstoneproducts.com/blogs/recipes?page=1 is also a good starting point. Good Luck to you. Let us know how it works out.
