Just wanted to say hi.
Fairly new to smokin' been at it for a few years, still learning. On my second Char Griller, the fire box on the first one crumbled from heat/rust.
I like the Char Griller design, it works w dr ll, and for less than $150.
There are are a few things I'm not satisfied with. The side shelf holds a dinner plate and not much else @ 22x11".
The bottom shelf is ridiculous, a bottle of lighter fluid falls right through the grate.
The condiment tray is also useless, imo.
I've replaced the condiment tray with a metal plate that has hooks for my grilling tools.
I've cut 4 5.5x23" cedar to replace the side shelf, fabricated new, hinged brackets so the cover will still fit. I'll post pics after I get the cedar treated and installed.
Not sure if I will simply reshelf the bottom or build a storage box.

Welcome from WI! I got one of those Chargrillers but I never use it for smoking really. Just grilling on rare occasion! Still I hear ya on the various 'features'.

Ok, lots of pics, apologies to anyone still on dial-up....

New bottom shelf. Both shelves are cedar.

I had to make support brackets for the side shelf, or it would have bent the side of the grill.

Side shelf folds down to accommodate chargriller's cover.

I also added these 2x4 angles to reduce charcoal consumption for small cooks, like tonight, I am searing just 1 steak.
