I am a long time lurker, first time poster here. I have enjoyed reading all of the post and information contained here in this forum.
A little bit about myself, I live in Central Florida in a town called Deltona. I have four boys who eat a lot, thus my need to learn to use a smoker (cooking in volume). I often make pulled pork, which my sons call butt, they love to freak out visiting friends by asking if they want a butt sandwich. I currently own a large reverse flow smoker on a trailer that my uncle built for me. the specs are 120 gallon propane tank 1/4" thick, (2) 18 wheeler rims welded together for the firebox, 3 slide out shelves (one of which I added myself), and a homemade trailer. I also have a Master Built 30" Electric smoker. I am currently building a patio sized RF smoker, mostly to see if I can and to practice welding. I am creating a thread in the builds section to chronicle the construction.
I have pretty much arrived at a good place in my journey for great ribs, butt, and chicken. I can turn out a very consistent product with those three. I would love to be able to make great brisket which is my next journey to be followed by corned beef. I really enjoy cooking, in fact I just enjoy creating. I studied art in college (even though I am a computer tech by trade) and I also enjoy wood working, wood turning, drawing, and metal working.
I look forward to interacting with the members of this forum.
