Hello

I've owned/used my MES Pro smoker (20070612) about a year now.  My 1st electric smoker after using wood smokers forever.

The MES has done a good job for me on everything I've put in it.  I bought the tube smoker thinking it would help keeping smoke generated within the unit so I don't have to open the door until the food is done. (Also bought the Maverick temp set toward that end).

I asked on the electric smoker forum and learned I may have made a mistake in buying the tube instead of the AMNPS.  Was asked whether my unit is Gen 1 or Gen 2.....no clue what I have.  Have 20lbs of pellets for smoke.

My 30" MES really doesn't have a lot of ventilation in it.  A grease drip-hole and a 1/2" in the upper back side.

Hoping for some advice about using the tube in my unit.

Thanks

Dave

Can you post a few pics of your smoker, including a view or 2 looking into the open front??

I don't know your smoker, but it's been my experience that if you have a lack of air flow, the tube may be easier to keep lit than the AMNPS.
