Nevada Newbie

Hello all.  My name is Kevin, as you may have guessed from my username.  I hale from NE Nevada, Spring Creek to be exact.  I just received a Mastrebuilt Pro dual fuel burner for Christmas.  I have used smokers before, but never much more than maybe once a year.  My dad on the other hand is an avid smoker.  He uses several different methods and it's time for me to begin my smoking quest.  I seasoned my new smoker as I have read about here on the forums.  I will be giving my first go at some elk jerky tomorrow. I will be sure to keep you all updated. 

As I stated above, I am a newbie to the smoking world, so all criticism/advice is welcome.  Thanks everyone!!
