So I am going to get myself a nice xmas present. A 8.5x20 Competition trailer. I am looking for 14' enclosed and a 6' porch. I am trying to find companies in the southeast that will build it without breaking the bank. I plan on doing all the cabinets and sinks myself. I just want the porch and intertior floors, walls, and ceilings covered with a 30Amp electrical pkg. Anyone know of companies that build great products for a fair price? Any help would be appreciated.

Thought I would let you all know I pulled the trigger. I just got an 8.5x20 trailer with a 2' nose. All enclosed with gullwing porch sides and a full size ramp. Found a sink system and stainless counter on craigslist. Going to build my own cabinets in nose and down the driver side then mount a 50" flat screen on the inside. Should be done mid Jan and I cant wait to go pick it up in Georgia.

This isnt mine but it is very similar to what I got. Mine is silver and no concession window on the side.

Here is one stainless table that is going to go inside next to a full size refrigerator

This was the money find. 7 foot long all stainless steel with cabinets underneath. guy got it from a restaurant auction. I got the original purchase receipt of $3200 and I paid $400 for it. Plan on putting a mini hot water heater in the bottom.

I finally got the call saying the rig is almost done. I am heading up to Pearson, GA to pick it up Sat. Below is a list of items I have purchased to put in it. Anyone else think of anything that might go well with it.

Stainless steel sink

stainless prep table

interior tie down system

50in flat screen with xbox and ps3

wireless camera system

leveling jacks on all four corners and for back gate

LED light bar to be installed on porch to shine in smokers at night

Overhead cabinet

Couch/Bed built into the v nose

Hot water system

Ac unit

Ill have my refer build and my memphis pro in it. Im only using it for comps so deep fryer idk about. I was thinking of refrigerator but cutting it close on amps with smokers, tv, and ac unit. Going to get a few permafrost coolers from gander. The recliner is a must have with aome aort of wand to grab a beer from cooler without getting up.

How are you going to get water ? city hook up ? fresh water tank with pump ? where is the gray water gonna go ? holding tank ? has the trailer been wired for 110V electric ? lights, receptacles ? carrying a generator or depending on shore power ? really gonna need an awning on the passenger side (full length of trailer is best)... ALWAYS... and I mean ALWAYS tie down any awnings (or easy ups) as I have seen sooooo many get destroyed by wind...I just picked up an easy up that was thrown in the trash last weekend.. fixed the 3 broke frame rails and it's like new (I have 3 or 4 extra frames, damaged from wind, that I use for parts) ... these are just few things.. there's plenty more...

I have a buddy that has a concession trailer with the smoker on the back (he also stacks the wood back there)... he says it's a REAL HANDFUL going down the road... to much weight in the rear makes the trailer sway to beat hell ... He asked me If I could put the smoker up front somewhere for him... Told him to just move the axles and put the tongue at the other end...

I will have a pass thru thru the side of the trailer for city water hook up. I am going to run water thru a tankless heater then thru side of trailer to water faucet. I have a 12gal tote that will go in the cabinet under the sink with quick disconnect system. I have the full 50AMP electrical system with 5 outlets. 3 inside and 2 outside on porch. (2) 4ft lights inside and 1 on porch. Will probably convert these to LED bulbs sometime. In my design I left about 4 ft right over and slightly in front of the axles to tie down my refer build which weights about 600 lbs. I will keep the Memphis on the porch since it doesnt weigh much. I plan on doing an awning down the road but I have 2 canopies that will be anchored to porch posts and staked in ground. I will probably go get a spare tire and mount it to the tongue just in case. I would love to find a smaller refrigerator that would work inside. I dont want to go full size but a mini wont hold everything.

sounds good... I would suggest for the small fridge to go with a 2 way RV fridge so you can run it off propane (and 12 volt battery) when no electric is available.. this will allow you to pre-cool at the house and load it up and still keep it cool while traveling... switches from propane to electric automatically when electric is supplied ...

I did a quick search on craigslist for ya.. this is one of many I found.. they work really well... you can search yourself for others ...

One thing I forgot to mention is I am having some issues with brake lights. maybe you guys with trailers can help me. When the trailer isnt hooked up the slightest touch to my brake pedal kicks the lights on. In daytime when trailer is hooked up the brakes work the same. At night time I have to push pedal all the way to ground before lights come on. Any ideas what is causing this?
