I cant get no more than 4hrs or so on my pitmaster cause ash builds up. I need ideas of ash removal during long smokes. I have a charcoal basket but i dont use it for pitmaster cause its more of a stick burner. Any ideas would be greatly helpful cause i have to do ten slabs of ribs for a reunion on friday.

I recommend raising the fuel grate.  I imagine there are several ways to do this: 1) screws/bolts 2) expanded metal 3) metal rods, etc to get the fuel grate higher to allow ash to fall through.  Also, you may want to put a barrier between the vent and the fire so ash doesn't block your airflow.

The easy and best kept secret is to use two grill grates in a v shape.

It keeps from burning out the sides of your fire box and you can adjust the height.

Most people don't use the extra grates for grilling so no need to build anything.
