I lived in Manitoba Canada for a few years, and they are still popular up there…

I believe that last one I had was as a kid at an A&W restaurant. This way back for you yungins as the only place you could get A&W root beer was from the restaurant. You could buy it by the gallon in a glass jug and bring it home. Sure do miss those days!

Apparently there's a lot of root beers out there... I'll have to look for more
