Travis, great picture, and nice lookin' cat. Tell Ryder nice job!

I remember being that age and fishing for cats and gills at the docks whenever we went camping. Lake Cowan sticks in my head as one of the places we used to go a lot.

John
Yep ive been to Cowan a few times. This was at Kiser lake. Small lake no motors not even electric. Good arm workout if you feel like taking a boat out lol! Kiser has some real nice channel cats as well. They stocked it for a long time with hybrid stripe bass too. Bluegill in the summer you can catch enough to sink a small row boat!

Beautiful looking naan bread pizzas Travis! I do something similar with the naan on the pizza stone in the oven.

Thanks xray! The naan bread sure makes for some great pizzas!

I have a pizza stone. Guess I need to get it out. Its a small one though. I would like to get a bigger one. That would be a lot less money than an outdoor pizza oven too lol!

Travis, if you find yourself using a pizza stone, I'm gonna make a recommendation based on experience. Get a good one!! I was buying the small, thin, cheap ones from Academy and they kept exploding on the grill. After torching about 8 of them we ordered a couple from Amazon that are much larger and 3/4" thick. Many, many cooks later and both are still perfectly in tact. No question that the good ones (I think they were about $20) are well worth the $$. Another thing...when you take the pizza stone out of the oven or off the grill, get the pizza off of it immediately. The residual heat from the stone (and there's a LOT of it) will burn the bottom of the pizza.

Learned the hard way,
Robert

Well Travis, you done went and done done it again :emoji_laughing: I thought about the pizzas this evening since my prime rib plans went off the deep end but decided I was gonna do some CI grilled sauerkraut and Bratwurst smothered with melted Swiss cheese. Sounded good to me. Well as I was making my last reply yo this thread Tracy came sneaking up on me and saw your pizzas. Guess what we're now having for dinner? I got out some spicy Italian sausage, some pepperoni, and pepper crusted bacon. Then went about making the pizza sauce. I'm pretty much set to make a pizza for dinner now :emoji_wink:

It'll be good!!

Sounds like this will be a good one with all the choices of meats! Yum!

One more thing I have discovered. Don't know if you're doing pizzas on the grill on in the oven. I always do mine on the grill which may heat differently than an oven. I found myself always either having the bottom burned or the top not fully cooked. They were never evenly cooked. Problem was all heating was coming from the bottom and not real heat on top. I bought what I affectionately refer to as the "pizza dome". It's nothing more than a large wok that's big enough to fit over the pizza stone upside down. That creates a convection/radiant style of heating that has made a HUGE difference in how well things cook. It was bought with the intention of using it for pizzas but I've found myself using it for a lot of different things. It's been a game changer, that's for sure.

If you were just dying for a new hobby there's a book that tells you how to make your own outdoor pizza oven at home, with using some very simple materials like sand. It's the kind where you build a fire in one side and slide the pizza into, ie brick fired pizza. I don't have the book nearby but a simple google search should find it. I never made one, but it looked like some fun messing around.
