My smoke vault is a pain in the booty, the drip tray buckled and now all the fat runs out and gets all over the place....
I scoop it out with a spoon !

In my area I don't have a great place to dump the water after a smoker (not gonna put it down my sink - would plug the plumbing... lol)... BUT I picked up a great tip from here on SMF years back.

Line your ash bucket with a tall trash bag, dump your cold ashes into your bucket (I do it the next day). Then dump any water in on the ashes. The ashes soak it up like a sponge - then after about 3 clean outs I just tie the bad closed and dump it in with the garbage. Super easy to take care of.
 
I love the idea of using ash to soak up the fat/water!
I will be using this trick in many applications!
Including slow cooker clean up!
In the past I just froze and threw away on garbage day,
I have a dog so I can't dump the fat anywhere that he won't find...
