My wife is a Medicare specialist by trade. I’m not certain what state you are located in. She’s only licensed in Alabama. I would strongly suggest finding a Medicare specialist local to you. They know all about everything you’re dealing with and assist you with everything at no charge to you
That what i am doing. Still a couple weeks off before i meet with her.

WOA! glad you are recovering and the surgery looks like a success.

I had a BIL who got the lung cancer, never smoked drank or did drugs. Found at stage 4, lasted a few months.

Hope you get many more years!!

F CANCER!!! man I hate that disease

Starting to figure this out. Definitely cost more than currently paying. Medicare $202 a month. Plan G, medigap going to cost about $150 a month.

Monthly on Part D is $0. It is that Synjardy 12.5-1000mg tablet I taking that drives the price up. Price is just for the remainder of the year.

FYI: WE ARE GOING TO USE MUTUAL OF OMAHA< GOING FORWARD>

Hi!
That’s the exact plan me and the wife are looking at.
Provides good coverage.
Drug plan:
You need to look into a decent drug plan,I know it’s very expensive for some drugs?
But there are other plans?
We are meeting up with our agent, end of the month.hopefully to find a better drug plan.?

That's a really really good price for Medi-Gap. What plan are you comparing?

Going from Medicaid (ACA) to Medicare with Medi-Gap is going to cost out of pocket because you have retirement accounts to draw and that is a much better situation than not having a nickle to your name.
Medicare is about 7% of our SS payments and that is a fixed price, Funny the SS COLA didn't cover the medicare increase

Thats kinda what I was thinking. The other factor is when you use the Medicare ins your out of pocket should near nothing. I joke with my wife that she gets everything for free. Its not exactly free, but compared to what I hemorrhage at every turn I would say its free.

I have several supplemental plans to chose from.
The plan my wife wanted until she went to my doctor that looks like a young Brad Pitt.
She was OK with the plan I chose after that.

Dunno about the rest of the USA but here in the west a PPO is way better than a HMO and only a few bucks more a month.

It makes all the difference in treatment availability when cancer hits.
HMO wouldn’t cover bone marrow transplant, PPO will.

Supplemental ins is so important. Medicare only covers so much and it some cases not much.

Laying on a hospital gurney cued up for the ER with 6 patents ahead of me in line.
My PPO supplement with Medicare was the Willie Wonka Golden ticket and I jumped to the head of the line.
Crazy but true.

Wife had a dbl mastectomy in April.
PPO paid for reconstructive surgery, HMO wouldn’t.

Chose wisely.

Got back from Broker. Went with a G plan with $130 a month. D plan is $0 but $615 deductible. That Synjardy I taking drove that up. Talked me into a Dental/Vision plan for &68 a month. Not really sure about this one as I dont wear glasses and dont spend much at dentist now but age could change that? Pretty much all my molars are crowned now. She says as get older need it more and harder to get. Also talked me into a cancer plan for $27 a month. Covers some stuff Medicare doesn't cover if get cancer. With medicare looking at about $430 a month. I sure like the ACA cost more but so ready not to have to play the income game anymore next year!
