Easier said than done, but don't let her beat herself up, Doug. My mother passed in a nursing home and at the end, she didn't know anyone. We were all there that day, but after several hours, we went home. Wasn't home an hour when they called. That's my regret still to this day 12 years later yesterday...My wife kind of has some regrets about not getting there sooner to be with her mom as she passed. In a way, I consider that a blessing. I held my mom's hand as she passed. Glad I was there, but don't wish the experience on anyone.
My parents lived on Lake Murray and my mother would feed the ducks and geese off their boat ramp. They had never ever seen any swans there. After she passed, we all went to be with my dad and this is what we saw swimming around their place...She passed peacefully in the night. That evening this was on my shop wall, I think her way of saying things are OK. . .
My mother was there letting us know she was alright. After her funeral a week or so later, they were gone and my dad never saw them again before he passed 4 years later...
