My proud moment tonight...

So they opened a new smoke restaurant not far from where I live (local guy got a storefront). My wife and i were trying to figure out what to do for dinner tonight so I suggested we give them a try and support the local guy.

My wife got the Corned beef sandwich with fries $9.00 and I got a Pulled pork platter (PP fries and Smoked Mac and cheese) $10.00 and we got it to go.

When we got home my son was home for the weekend from college so he had to try it as well. It was all good so we were discussing what we thought.

I said I thought everything was good bu i think my pulled pork is better. (Here is the proud part) my son says "oh, your pulled pork is way better that theirs. Everything you make is better than any BBQ place we have ever gone to. All my friends think you should open your own place"

That right there made my entire day.

I would trade 100 friends approvals for 1 offsprings approval. Most friends, especially those you're feeding, never want to be harsh critics. Kids are a tough audience. Nicely done.

SWEET!  That must feel great!!! I have a 4 year old.  Kills me when dinner time comes and he whines "thats not what I like".  Its good stuff too.  I remember when use kids did this too the folks.  Now I know what they felt like.  HAHA.  My parents are excellent cooks too.  Never new what we were missing until it was many moons later!!  At least my son devours the ribs and chicken that come out of the smoker.
