Seeing all of the Prime Rib being cooked lately caused me to look in the freezer, didn't find any so I went to the store and they had some that were nearing the expiration date so they lower the price, bought two in anticipation of grilling them tonight.
To add to this eating pleasure look what I found on the shelves of our Ace Hardware, added to their usual Hickory and Mesquite I found Apple, Cherry and Pecan!
I bought a bag of Apple, Cherry and Pecan
I sprinkled salt on the steaks to bring up some moisture an then tried some of Beer-B-Q's (Paul) rub that I received in the exchange with Gary.
I seared both sides over high heat for a couple of minutes on the Genesis then moved them to the back to finish indirect. Here they are ready to be taken off to rest, I tried the Apple chips in the foil pouch and we were pleasantly surprised.
Here they are after a 15 minute rest, ...the pic doesn't do them justice, they are 2" thick and...., I only paid $15 for the two.
Rib eye, green beans, mashed taters and chicken gravy!!!
Here's my plate, ...I got the bone to gnaw on and a outside cut???
Hmmm, something suspicious here, since Mrs JPT did the cutting and the serving, I asked the question, why aren't my taters red like hers? LOL
All in all it was great dinner!
We really liked Paul's rub, it complimented the steak very nicely.
Thanks for looking at my Q-view.
