First buck, second deer.

Got it the night before Thanksgiving.

He was happy, even though it was just a spike.

He did a great job gutting it, and dragging it 1/4 mile.View attachment 474227

My grand pap used to say" no matter how long you boil the horns you still cant eat them".

Your first buck, pronghorn, elk or any game animal is always the best trophy. The neck on that deer says it all, that will be one fantastic roast.

Early on, most hunt for the trophy, which is understandable.... later on,,,, most hunt for the freezer.
