LOL, My neighbor does a couple of hundred briskets a year and when I told him what I was going to do he just started shaking his head and laughing. He REALLY looked at me cross when I told him I was making Pastrami out of one of them.
My daughter texted me awhile ago and said she never thought she would like corned beef.
I don't know if it is beginners luck but it was relatively easy to do. Very proud of myself on this one.
There is one more small piece I will do for St. Patrick's Day with cabbage.
Alpine? I been there. Everybody wears hats and boots and the girls dip snuff. This all coming back now. Nice looking corned beef. Even little babies love that stuff. Great job! Where do yall buy briskets? Is the Chute #!1 still in bizness?
Well good show. Ben E. Keith is an excellent resource. I got kin who works for them. Do they have a retail dock in your area or do you have a tax number and other good stuff like that? You ever bump into a crazy old ex-hypo around there who goes by Jim Lagrange? Sure he is retired by now. He was working out there when the Mountain Lion decided to eat the kid.
bigwheel, Ben E Keith is a friend of a friends cousin sorta deal. Jim Lagrange kinda sounds familiar but I was "out seeing the world" (LOL never left Texas) for almost 20years. Lots of people came and went in my absence.
