Its 37 deg. outside today so I figured I'd finaly try to smoke some butter. Im going a bit Gheto Style on this smoke but I think it will work out o.k. I am going to try 3 sticks for the first attempt. I am setting the butter on 2 splatter screens that I use for smoking in the hope of difusing any heat from bellow.

Here it is in the smoker.I put a pan under just incase this turns into an epic failue.

And now the Gheto part of this smoke. Since im trying to keep the heat down and I havent got off my lazy a$$ to do the mailbox mode yet I am using some aluminum foil as a funel to get the smoke in. As you can see it leaks a bit of smoke but there is a good amount tat makes it inside.

More Pics to come at the 3 hour mark. Im not to sure on the total smoke time yet as ive never done this before, Im guessing 5 hours. I am using Hickory Pellets.

The aluminum foil doesnt work. I looked out to check on it and no smoke. When i took off the foil there was a flame. Too much air flow allowed it to ignite so its now inside the smoker with the door latched but kept open a half inch. I hope this works.

I did a total of 6 hours yesterday. Although there was a definate smell of smoke there was no real color on the butter. Im wondering if this is because they were on the splatter screen. So I just put them back in the smoker for day 2. Today I am using Plum Dust in 2 rows of my AMNPS. I will post more pics when they come out.

I did my butter last friday, smoked it for three hours. No color, but sure can smell the smoke. I vac-packed the butter to let it rest like the cheese. I used hickory wood. Plus I used a bigger screen
