just checking if the pic made to the avator. If it did then this is one I took in September of a nesting pair In Houson Texas. Yes, I said Houston Texas. Eagles are coming back, at one time they used to be in all 48 states.
There are a number of nesting pairs along the Connecticut River. I have had the pleasure of watching them from a canoe as I fished along the River. (Next time I will remember the camera!!!)
The CT River forms most of the boundary between New Hampshire and Vermont. Fortunately it runs close enough to where I live to be a convenient trek for some excellent fishing.
I live on a coastal river in Oregon. I have several Balds that live right around me. There is a nesting pair right across the river from my back door.
Recently a batch of local river Otters caught a Steelhead. They were playing with it and the two Balds decided they wanted it. One landed on a limb in plain sight and while the Otters were watching it, the other Bald swooped down and swiped the fish.
Here is a picture of the waiting Bald, taken from my river side deck.
They are booming around here too Gofish.... just up the Bay from you.... we have quite a few on APG... They actually just came of the endangered list and moved to the protected list.... We have training on post ... Eagle awareness.... to help keep them thriving...
We don't get many eagles here in Delaware that I know of... the closest ones I have seen are in Philly, and they wear helmets... not very atractive I must say...
