its been a while since i have been on here but i need a little advice on some of the mods i need to do on my oklahoma joes highland smoker the only thing i have done so far is built a charcoal box and welded the fire box together instead of sealing it have got to smoke a little and that sucks but shift work gets the best of me any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Hi. This is Don. The thread mentioned shows some mods I made to my OK Joe Highland. Today I'm smoking my first brisket. I learned just this morning that the upper vent I added has a bonus feature I didn't expect. I can add short splits to the fire basket right through the vent without opening the FB lid and losing heat. Open it wide toss the split in and shut it some. Handy. Don.

RingsRUs that's an attractive price for the reverse flow OK Joe. Mine's a Highland regular that was $258 on sale at Walmart. But the reverse flow has the options of stack placement, some tuning plate looking baffles inside, and a charcoal basket. Maybe more too I don't know about. For the little difference in the price of that unit at that price is great. I wonder if Walmart would match the price if there was no Fleet Store locally to the original poster? Worth and ask. Don.
