MES40 Gen. 2.0 modded - now a Gen. 2.25

My MES 40 Gen 2.5 died after 4 years of service. It could not be saved. While looking for a replacement I found a deal I could not pass up for an old MES 40 Gen 2.0.

I did not understand the purpose of the slanted drip pan. I did not like the slanted drip pan. So I gutted my old Gen 2.5 shelving hardware and stuck it in the Gen 2.0.

I had to adjust the water pan with a sledge hammer...but since I only use it as a drip pan (never ever use water), no biggie.

Since it is a mix of Gen 2.0 and 2.5 - Gen 2.25 it is.

FWIW - I like the older RF remote way WAY better than the Bluetooth app on my iPhone.

Nice "friendly persuasion" on the pan.
