I have a  Mes--40 how often should you add wood chips to smoker I have the bigger wood chip tray that masterbuilt sent me I don't want the meat to be to smoky

You can add about a 1/4-1/2 cup of chips about every hour or you could just not use the chip loader and get yourself a pellet smoker from

A-MAZE-N-SMOKER. Trust me, you wont regret it. You can smoke consistently for 12+ hrs, then you don't have your smoke fluctuating from too much to none. It provides the perfect amount steadily until your done.

Your only smoking when the heating element is on, so it is variable.  I would say about every 30-50 minutes depending on smoking temp and outside temp.

Still playing around with my Amazin smoker so can't comment on it, but gets good reviews.

Usually fistful is good enough to start but exact smoke taste that you like can be found only by trials and errors.
