Looking for a good way to even out temps in my smoker, dis a test last night on upper rack middle and bottom rack middle I had the same temp. But when I moved top gage to the back and. Bottom gage to the front I have a 30 temp diffrence. Any advice?

How about not adjusting your gauges?  Not trying to be a smart ass but if it's working fine, why mess with it?

Ikrus, morning....  here is one mod I did to move the heat exhaust to the center of the smoke...  I still use it... I think it works OK....

Then I removed all the chip tray stuff... all I use is Todd's AMNPS for smoke... The tunnel I think, mixes the heat and air better to reduce the hot spot... I still use it... I think it works OK too...  I have a plethora of mods I've done....  check out my profile and read until you are convinced I'm crazy for doing this stuff....  Dave

Morning dave what materials did you use for the tunnel ? I was thinking of the same thing except to put slots in it for air flow
And as a shield for the ammps

Steel painted flashing... The paint is baked on so no problems from the heat.... even on high for 3 hours, no discoloration...   I got it from the farm store that sell metal roofing....

I moved the AMNPS outside the smoker into a mailbox and ducted it into the smoker through 3" flex pipe and elbows...

Here is that mod....  Just did it.... Dave

I use the simplest mod of all...a sheet of aluminum foil on the bottom rack, making sure it is tight to the right and rear. I figure it deflects some of the heat to the left side.

Below is what I use and it works ok.  The advantages over a piece of tile are weight, weight of tile when those metal parts heat and cool , heat and cool may eventually cause stress.  The alum cookie sheet is light.  The size is perfect.

Here is a post I wrote about it.
