I currently have a chimney on my mes 30 which is a 90 deg aluminum 3" elbow from home depot to help my amnps.  Sorry no pics as im at work but it looks identical to the first pic here http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/111786/mes-smokers-chimney-addition#post_696844  Would it be better to have straight chimney vs the 90 deg i currently have? My thought is that if the wind is blowing directly in the chimney it could cause issues.  Thoughts?

I run mine at a 90 and turn away from the wind. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, seems like to should to me. I have been taking it off I the really cold weather though, the condensation has been building up and dripping back in my smoker.

Good idea about removing the chimney in cold weather. I have noticed the condensation in the chimney. Don't want that dripping back on my food.
