Long time lurker here. I have learned a lot from everyone here, espescially when I was just starting out with my MES30. Now using a Masterbuilt gravity series. Love it.

Have been using the stainless Kitchen Aide grinder for a few years after busting the plastic one that came with my wife mixer. Every year she gets her knickers in a bunch over me burning out her mixer processing deer.

Anyway I was window shopping meat grinders while bored at work on night shift and ran across the MYM 1hp #22 grinder on sale for $389 and pulled the trigger. Figured this was as good an excuse as any to sign up and pass along the deal. Watch out though, their site wouldn't let me check out as a guest so I created an account. This brought up a "new customer discount" of 10% but reset the price to not the sale price. I had to empty the cart and start over to get the sale price back.

We use that one - it's a beast. Can't imagine needing the 1.5HP - but I wouldn't turn it down. lol

I think our first time using it, we ran through like 30lbs on the coarse die in 4 minutes. Love it.

Thanks Doug. Now don't be a stranger...

Long live the King!

Holy Moley that thing is HUGE!
I had no frame of reference for size having only used the KA attachment.
Looks like I'm going to have to learn how ot butcher hogs and make sausage.

Congrats on the upgrade. The KA is OK for novices.
Sausage? You are going to need a stuffer.

Are you referring to the grinder or the crown?

You bet, it's a monster.... a lovely, beautiful nightmare. Add to that my 22lb Hakka powered stuffer and I could really run an entire sausage making outfit full time with those two items. It's amazing how much easier it makes it, though, when I whip those two out every couple of months to knock out a batch.

Totally worth it.

I LOVE the crown, but I was refering to the grinder.
After trying to stuff sausage with the KA I grabbed an 11lb Avantco manual stuffer from the restaurant store. Along with the 10" Avantco slicer I'm now all set.
