I have 733 and I agree it's a pain in the tail.

I don't ever change it, I shut off the alarms and

just watch the temperatures.

The 733 is a pain in the old arse. I'd give it to my son-in-law but I like him too much.

Since I started using the Performer for most smokes, I don't bother with any remote thermo (I have 5 or 6). The Weber thermo in the Performer lid handle assembly tells me if the heat is hi, low or just right and I adjust that with the dampers, top and bottom. I use a Thermopop to check meat temps.

Real pitmasters don't need no stinkin' .... :yahoo:
